LG V30

LG V30 review, features, price and specs: With dual-camera, quad-DAC, a wide aperture and a lovely design, can LG finally make a great phone?

Loads of features ; Stunning audio ; The nicest looking LG phone yet

Screen isn't great ; Stuck on Android 7 ; LG's software is still ugly

For the first time in the series, the 3300mAh cell inside the LG V30 isn’t user-replaceable. This will disappoint some – but, realistically, it would be impossible to create such a good-looking device that still let you rip off the back.

LG V30 review: LG’s latest flagship needs more polish

LG devices often get overshadowed by its bigger rivals, but its new V30 insists you pay attention to it. It's an elegant, well-built device with powerful performance and some of the best audio quality we've ever heard out of a smartphone. It's...

Excellent, water-resistant design ; Strong performance ; Flexible, powerful video features ; It sounds fantastic!

Screen appears gritty at low brightness ; Low-light camera performance could be better ; Middling battery life

LG V30 review

A strong competitor for 2017's best Android phone.

OLED screen ; Highly creative video mode ; Wide-angle camera ; Superb audio ; Great battery life

Lacking video and photo editing features ; Screen edges very sensitive ; No unlocked version yet

The LG V30 is the best phone LG has made yet, and it can compete with the best from other major manufacturers in 2017. The V30 is an excellent choice if you’re excited about shooting great video, and want a camera that doesn’t just repeat the same old...

LG V30 review: All screen

The V-series of phablets was conceived as a novel take on the phablet with a secondary ticker display. Well, that lasted for two product cycles, and the secondary screen is no more. Instead, the LG V30 is all screen.

The LG V30 is a surprisingly good choice for cash-strapped YouTubers

Want to vlog but don't have the cash for a DSLR? Check out the V30.

LG V30 review

We have some issues with its screen, but this is a great-sounding smartphone.

Lovely sound ; Adaptable dual-lens camera ; Premium design ; Skinny screen bezel

HDR video quality not up to snuff ; Camera doesn’t rival the competition

On-the-go listening from a smartphone doesn’t get much better than this, but the V30 doesn’t have the image quality to back up its sound

LG V30 review

I just want a phone that does everything. Is that too much to ask?

The LG V30 almost has it all: a great camera, speedy processor, huge OLED screen, excellent battery life, waterproofing, wireless charging, microSD storage and the best headphone jack on a phone.

Ergonomic quirks can make the V30 awkward to hold. You may miss some shots due to slow camera autofocus. Carrier-specific versions come with annoying bloatware and logos.

The LG V30 is a rock-solid alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Plus and the Google Pixel 2 XL. If it fits your hands and your photographic needs, you won't be disappointed.

Review: LG V30

We review the LG V30, an understated phone that can go toe-to-toe with the best Android devices.

Waterproof and has some shock resistance if dropped. The fingerprint sensor on the back is easy to use and quick. With its headphone amp, it might be the best phone for audiophiles. It also holds up quite well, battery wise.

The camera is very good, but can’t compete with the absolute top smartphones. Glass design will require a case, and the rear coating picks up gunk. $800+ is a lot to pay for a phone.

LG V30 review: Another great LG phone that just isn't great enough

The LG V30 tries to break out of its niche with more mainstream appeal, but the results are pretty much the same.

Compact design, great battery life, and top-of-the-line specs. ; Camera app brings excellent features and shooting modes. ; Quad DAC offers superior sound through wired headphones. ; Wireless charging and IP68 water resistance are a nice addition.

Display is inconsistent and duller than other OLEDs. ; UX 6.0+ skin doesn't improve on the Android experience. ; Image quality isn't as good as its peers.

Even without last year's gimmicks, the LG V30 is still basically an Android enthusiast phone, appealing to die-hard fans who need the latest smartphone specs, and want killer audio and assortment of fun features. But its competition has only gotten...

LG V30 review: groundbreaking phone with a deal-breaking flaw

This is the best-sounding smartphone that's ever been made, and it also has LG's finest industrial design to date.

Best headphone audio from a phone ; Ergonomically excellent ; Uncompromising spec sheet includes wireless charging and water resistance ; Impressive speed and battery life

The display is distractingly bad ; Bloatware, bloatware as far as the eye can see ; Camera doesn’t produce the most lifelike images

The V30 arrives half a year after the G6 and, at first blush, appears to rectify everything that ailed LG’s devices of the past. But LG rushed to put an imperfect OLED screen in its flagship phone, preferring to have the highlight spec over the...
