HTC U11 review

A unique phone with great audio performance

Great camera ; Excellent audio performance ; Impressive two-tone coloring

Edge Sense is half-baked ; Screen slightly dim ; Camera shutter speed slow

The HTC U11 is a wildly impressive phone - in a sea of wildly impressive phones. The core abilities will wow any HTC fan, but the squeezable sides really fail to impress.

HTC U11 review: a colour changing phone you'll want to squeeze

HTC has gone back to its innovative roots with the HTC U11, and we love it

Slim, colourful design ; Squeezable edges ; Great camera

Not a standout display ; Camera slow ; Looks fragile

HTC U11 review

It's getting harder and harder to make an impression when it feels like every major phone manufacturer is gunning for the super-powered, top-tier flagship title. The HTC U11 has tried to get you to sit up and take notice with features like squeezable...

It’s a performance monster, it’s gorgeous front and back, it’s water-resistant, it’s big-screen. The HTC U11 ticks the boxes that matter.

The HTC U11’s squeezable sides feel more gimmicky than novel, as does HTC's virtual assistant. The stunning glass rear is prone to smudging, and the battery felt very thirsty.

You won’t be picking this one up for squeezable sides. You’ll be picking up the HTC U11 for the performance and the design.

A unique style and squeezable sides prove HTC still knows how to innovate.

HTC U11 review: Solar red version now available in UK

HTC's U11 is a welcome return to form for HTC, but is it enough to overhaul the Google Pixel XL or the Samsung Galaxy S8?

Superb camera ; Gorgeous design ; Expandable storage

Almost as expensive as Galaxy S8 ; Screen is only okay ; Edge sense isn't all that useful

However, these are small things I’d be perfectly prepared to live with. The HTC U11 is right up there with the very best smartphones around; it’s a phone that should put HTC right back on the map.

HTC U11 review

Not the most innovative phone of 2017, but likely to be one of the best

Solid build ; Stunning screen ; Fast performance ; Great camera

No headphone jack ; Music could be more engaging ; Battery life ok at best

Not the most exciting or innovative new smartphone, but decent sound and video performance mean it's one of the best of 2017

We get squeezy with the HTC U11

An in-depth review of HTC's new U11 flagship phone for 2017. Take a look at its ever changing colour and find out why you can squeeze it.

There's a lot to like about the HTC U11 and while it certainly has flagship level specs, it's hard to differentiate in the market against the likes of Samsung and LG. The glossy and colourful design is fresh but won't be for everyone, even though we're...

HTC U11

The HTC U11 for Sprint is the best music phone around, and its unusual squeeze sensor is a fun new way to interact with a mobile device.

Excellent audio quality. Useful squeeze sensor. Gigabit LTE. Fast processor. Alexa compatible.

Camera doesn't measure up to its marketing. No headphone jack. Back panel attracts fingerprints.

HTC has spun out a confusing and unconvincing set of phones so far this year. Seeing the U11, clearly HTC's flagship, I wonder why the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play came out at all—although they didn't fully come out in the US, with neither phone getting...

HTC U11 Review: You won’t buy this, but you should

HTC learned the hard way that, in the cutthroat smartphone industry, you need to bring your A-game each and every time. Make a misstep and, though recovery isn't impossible, it'll cost you dearly - cash that HTC just doesn't have to splash around. The...

The HTC U11 is a seriously good phone. HTC has combined beautiful design, superlative build quality, thoughtful features, and a restrained customization of Android. Problem is, I suspect few will ever actually see one. It’s fair to say that HTC is...
