A handy lapdesk with in-built speakers and a cooling fan.

A clever and potentially useful peripheral, the Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700 does a great job of combining improved audio, ergonomic comfort and cooling into one. Some may find it hard to justify the cost, but if you can then it won't disappoint.

Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700

 

It looks like a Stable Table, but it's actually quite a lot more. The N700 is great for watching movies, but its speaker placement makes the sound a little dull for music.

Almost silent cooling fan. USB powered. Great for watching movies.

Heavier than you'd imagine. Speaker position is not great for music. No room for a wireless mouse.

If you're a laptop multitasker who browses the web while watching TV, then the N700 is great for you, and its internal speakers may just have you flicking off the tube and watching videos on your laptop instead.

Logitech's N700 is not your average lapdesk by any means. It connects to your laptop via USB so it can also act as a speaker system, as well as an external cooling fan.

Logitech Lapdesk N700 provides a good upgrade over the stock laptop speakers by offering great fidelity and quality. Although the cooling performance leaves a lot to be desired, the N700 still stands out in a league of its own with its intended purpose.

Great sound for the package ; Good feature package and value ; Very comfortable padding ; Only uses one USB port ; Great build quality backed by the legendary Logitech warranty

Could be a bit too big & heavy ; Sound quality impaired by thick mesh cover ; Easily stained ; Sacrifices cooling performance for quietness

Laptops are portable, convenient and discreet. However, they do get rather hot when you use them. Put it flat on a desk and it heats up. Put it on your lap and your thighs get gently toasted. Use it in bed, and the duvet acts as a massive heat trap and...

We have really come to like the Lapdesk. In fact, I'm using it now, playing loud music and keeping my lap nice and cool, and I do every evening. At home, where only my wife and kids can make fun of me
