The keyboard is indeed bluetooth ONLY, meaning the USB charging cord that comes with it cannot be used as a USB data connection. This being said, the keyboard is not usable before the OS's logon screen when the bluetooth service starts.

This Logitech Bluetooth keyboard is a little gem to install and use. It keeps up with your typing no matter how fast you type. It may be on the expensive side but it is definitely worth every penny. The keys have a great feel to them and their spacing...

It is one of the more expensive Bluetooth wireless keyboards available.
