Libretto W105

Well, this is kinda interesting: a brand new Roku just hit the FCC, sporting model number 2400X. Beyond the fact that we just got a trio of new streaming media boxes from the company, the model number would almost seem to imply this is a last-gen...

Toshiba Libretto W105-L251 review: Toshiba Libretto W105-L251

Toshiba Libretto W105-L251

Innovative dual-touch-screen design; better-than-expected performance; multiple onscreen keyboard layouts.

Disappointing battery life; some awkward touch interaction.

Toshiba's dual-touch-screen Libretto W105 is a fun, quirky experiment, but it's still more of an expensive executive toy than a practical PC.

Toshiba Libretto W105

The Toshiba Libretto W105 is no threat to any existing computing device, thanks its full plate of flaws.

Speedy processor. 64GB SSD provides good transfer speeds. Very portable. Dual screens.

Runs Hot. Unbearable fan noises. Virtual keyboard is useless under a bright light and in the outdoors. Subpar battery life. No HDMI or VGA. No Ethernet port. Not an ideal eBook reader. Very expensive. Available in limited quantities.

With two 7-inch touchscreens, the 1.2-GHz Libretto W105 does triple duty as a notebook computer, media player and e-reader.

Toshiba Libretto W105

Unique dual screen design, highly portable, capable CPU., Head-turning design, dual capacitive touch screens, fast CPU for a computer this size, great video playback, full Windows 7 on board. Good virtual keyboards and touch pad. Toshiba's software...

7" displays are too small for Windows 7 and touch interaction. Fan blasts., Noisy, non-stop fan. Expensive. Windows wasn't meant for a 7" touch screen (hard to use UI elements, must increase DPI size in display settings). Though the virtual keyboard is...

The Toshiba Libretto W100 is a unique ultra-portable PC. It's hard not to love it for its geek factor and uber-daring design; and it targets you well-heeled gadget freaks rather than everyday users. A few years from now, we suspect Toshiba and other...
