Affordable price tag ; Respectable benchmark performance ; Expansion opportunities
Relies on integrated graphics ; Poor gaming performance ; Mediocre (and nonwireless) PS/2 mouse and keyboard

The Gateway DX4870-UB2B gives its users what they expect: the latest technology and decent power in an inexpensive desktop PC.
Good performance in class. Internal expansion room. 6GB memory, 1TB hard drive. Dual band 802.1 a/b/g/n networking. HDMI.
Smallish PSU. Not tool-less for upgrades. Bloatware. Front USB ports are USB 2.0.
The Gateway DX4870-UB2B is a great choice for the budget-minded PC buyer who wants to replace that old desktop, but still needs the traditional large screen, keyboard, and mouse of a PC. It's not anything flashy, but it's a great buy, and likely will...

Front USB ports are USB 2.0. Low power PSU limits expansion. Bloatware.

While it could have benefited from a stronger GPU, the Gateway DX4870-UR11P breezes past its mainstream consumer desktop peers thanks to its mighty processor, all while nipping at the heels of beefier entry-level gaming desktops.
Robust quad core processor power. USB 3.0. Integrated Wi-Fi. Decent expandability
300W PSU limits GPU upgradeability. Heavy on the bloatware. Somewhat pricey for its class

i won this comp and immediately made changes
get this computer and put about another 600.00 into it and it can be a great system
I bought this computer factory when it was 899$ elsewhere. Honestly it is great computer once a few changes were made ; Straight out of the box if you do anything other than standard social media or using windows you will need to replace the low...
I cant stress enough that if you replace the power supply and graphics card this is a great computer, if not it is a fair system for daily social media and email

I didnt buy this on neweggs but i had it for 1 1/2 years ago.
Well... I replaced some of the things in the computer like the PSu and GPU so thats fine now. The 8gb RAM is enough for the games i play
The GPU is horrible. get a different one if you play things like bf4
