Happy and Irritated

 

If you can get over the sound of the drive, this one is for you. I am not yet familiar with the drive's ability to handle games. I will get back to you once I figure it out.

Does what I needed it to do

Loudish noise every now and again. I'm guessing it's because the drive is reading and writing

Great Fast HDD

 

This HDD is amazing, great read/write speeds for a mechanical drive, getting around 160-170 MBps read and write speeds. I use this drive in my gaming PC and it holds shortcuts to my documents, pictures, videos, etc. from windows default folders, plus...

The "2 TB" is actually 1.8 TB of usable space, cuz of bits to bytes and whatnot. Not docking an egg, just stupid convention that we use

Works great

 

Pretty inexpensive for a drive that you can put your faith in with as much space.

I use this as my gaming drive and have my games on it that I don't play very often. Has worked extremely well and I don't have long load times

I can tell that this is the bottle neck for loading games off of it, but that is to be expected

Went with the black series in hopes that it would last, despite the other reviews. I used it for system backups, about a terabyte or so of info, and I often turn off the computer over night. Just as the other reviewers said, each time the disc was...

IF YOU NEED AN HDD THIS DNE WOULD FILL THE NEED IN MOST CASES.

i have had this hdd running in my computer for over a month ; now and have had no problems at all so far, it is fast and very ; good for most all jobs that it should be

none, so far. i will write annother reveiw if it becumes needed

Reliable and Durable

 

This is the twelfth or thirteenth WD Black drive that I've purchased, and they've all been great drives. Even the single 640GB I got like five years ago that was DOA out of the box was promptly and cheerfully replaced, and is still in use today!

Fast, good sized cache, solidly built, five year warranty

Failed In less than 1 year

 

Got tired of the poor performance and file corrections and initiated an RMA. Western digital charged my card for an advanced(cross shipped) RMA and did not issue an RMA number. Now I must wait for the pending charge to clear before trying to start the...

Drive seemed acceptable although loud

Failed in under a year, Loud operating noises turned to loud clicking. While opening a files the hard drive repeatedly makes the noise similar to the heads parking

Still Dependable As Ever

 

I have stopped using HDDs from other manufacturers. WD Black are good buys when on sale at Newegg.

It is a WD Black, made in Thailand, with a 5 year guarantee ; I have yet to have one fail

Sold Performance

 

I tend to be brand loyal to certain brands until I encounter serious issues with their product/s.

Works well, large drive, pretty fast. No issues so far after 2 weeks. Primarily used for gaming, which it seems to handle well

Seemed a little pricey compared to other HDD of similar size, but I've used WD for so long and rarely encountered issues with their drives, while I've had some bad experiences with a few others
