Plustek SmartOffice PS282

 

The Plustek SmartOffice PS282 delivers duplex document scanning at a bargain price.

Low cost. Duplex. 600 pixel-per-inch (ppi) optical resolution. 25 page-per-minute (ppm) rated speed.

Software bundle is disappointing, particularly for scanning business cards. One button scanning uses arbitrary numbers for scan definitions, so you have to memorize the list of definitions or look them up.

I am not a fan of the plastic paper holder on the front. I simply removed it and let the landing zone be the surface of my desk. This is clearly one of my favorite computer components. I don't know what I would do without it.

This scanner has a very small footprint ; I have owned this scanner for more than 4yrs and has been perfect for my needs ; The scanner has 10 different scanning modes. I have configured them for high resolution document scanning ;w or w/o duplex;...

Calibration card. When you first install the printer the software will have you push through a calibration card. I get frustrated when I misplace it. A generic postcard will work ; I understand the need but I found it frustrating anyway

Was disappointed

 

With the paper width slider on, its hard to scan letter sized paper for whatever reason. The paper doesn't quite fit.

Its a nice compact scanner which I was looking for

1) The CD ROM provided didn't work and I could not download the application software from the plustek site ; 2) I emailed their tech support and 2 days later I haven't even received an acknowledgment of receipt of my case ; 3) Even with the driver...
