My Wife Loves It

 

I bought this for my wife, who is an accounting consultant, and she loves it! She brings it with her on client visits, impressing clients with her cool gadget while also reducing the number of papers she needs to bring home to the filing cabinets.

As portable as a curling iron; easy to use; OCR software generates searchable PDFs quickly; comes with a nice carrying bag to keep it safe in transit

It takes a bit of finesse to get standard-sized paper to line up straight and stay straight as it is being fed through the scanner, resulting in scans that are often slightly askew. There also doesn't seem to be an easy way to re-scan a single page...

Avoid Ambir

 

Good feed mechanism, good image quality.

Unit cannot scan multiple pages in Paperport without bring up the TWAIN driver for EVERY PAGE! Ludicrous.

Great Scanner

 

We originally bought three of them and my boss liked them so much he wanted two more.

Quick and easy setup. Very portable, runs right off the USB port, no external power needed. Scans right to a PDF file
