This is in itself an awesome lens and would be great if it it had vibration reduction. A friend of mine has this on a Nikon D80 and I used it for a weekend. The zoom feature is only useful at the highest zoom on a very bright day and even then you run...

Very sharp and great amount of zoom, very affordable and great value for money.

Feels plasticky, expecially when turning the zoom ring, very long when fully extended, no vibration reduction

This is a entry level lens for any beginner. In some ways this lens is better than the 18-200mm VR lens. As much as this lens lack the VR feature but if you had a tripod, this lens produce very sharp pictures. The lens being light is easy to carry...
