It's A Diamond, (except for the Design)

I got this MP3 player for free when I upgraded to Windows XP, so I admit that I did not have much of an emotional investment to the product.

Small, compact, and very functional

Battery door is a bad design

10 songs just isn't enough...

Unless you buy a memory card (and the max size card is 64 megs is believe) you're stuck with 10 songs, unless you compromise the quality of the music your rip.

no skipping, pocket sized, nice headphones

minimal memory, limited on memory upgrade

Diamond. Not anyones friend

MP3 technology is still in its infancy. still, not one to shy away from the advances of science, i went out and jumped head first into the revolution that is portable digital music.

Could have been a good value

I received a Rio PMP300 (parallel port) as a present back in 1999, and just bought a Rio One (USB) in April 2002 as a birthday gift. Both are the same design, SonicBlue just ugpraded the interface to make it more practical.

Rio One w/ 128Mb extension a good value

Build quality is near crap

Good budget mp3 player

If you want an mp3 player for cheap these days, this one is an excellent choice. You can probably find one on ebay for $50 or less.

Inexpensive. Easy to use

Cheap plastic parts. Lack features

The PMP300 was a great idea, but had its flaws.

I was excited when I first got my Rio PMP300 around when it first came out, and was pleased with the product. I think that MP3 music users need to know the basics about MP3 technology and music to get the most out of the onboard 32MB of flash memory....

Great idea, and compact design

Flawed Design, however

An alright experience

After hunting high and low for a good deal on an MP3 player, I finally settled on the Rio 300. It seemed like a good buy for it's money, with many features and 32 MB of storage. Unfortunately, it broke less than 24 hours after I bought it. I was...

small, no skipping, can repeat just PART of a song

easily breaks, can't hold many songs

Good for 1999, but not anymore...

Believe me, I was one of the first to run out and buy a RIO PMP 300 when it came out. It gave me many, many hours of enjoyment commuting every day for over a year. But technology advanced, and now it is no longer needed, a museum piece if you will......

Compact, Easy to use, Inexpensive, Decent sound, 1 Battery Operation

Sub-Average Headphones, Few EQ Options, Inconvenient Hookup, Flimsy Battery Case Lid
