Either a 7-inch tablet or an on-contract Android smartphone would be more useful and potentially less expensive. Parents should know there are no safeguards included to restrict access to age-inappropriate content.

Samsung delivers Android's answer to the iPod Touch at a time when you can spend less for Android's answer to the iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0

 

The Samsung Galaxy Player is the only real competitor to the iPod touch, and it makes a great alternative for folks who don't want to use their phone as a music player, and prefer Android to Apple.

Good-looking hardware. Solid battery life. Expandable memory. Runs 250,000 Android apps. Free integrated turn-by-turn navigation.

Slow camera. Android's feature options aren't as clear as those in iOS.

The standard Google apps are here as well. That means the Galaxy Player has terrific Gmail and Google calendar support, along with free GPS voice-guided navigation, something that isn't available on the iPod touch.

Le Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 prouve la maîtrise globale de Samsung dans le monde du baladeur moderne. Dommage que la partie matériel de l'audio ne soit pas plus travaillée (puissance, qualité des écouteurs...).

Sortie casque de bonne qualité ; Très bon écran ; Android Market

Lecture audio légère ; Ecouteurs médiocres

On l'avait reproché à pas mal de constructeurs (Archos, Cowon,...) et Samsung ne s'y est pas laissé piéger : le WiFi 4.0 a son accès direct à l'Android Market et s'équipe d'un processeur maison totalement compatible avec les applications disponibles....
