iPhone XS review: iPhone XS is arguably the most iterative iPhone to date but it's still worth considering, provided you can swing the high asking price.
Top-notch performance ; Phenomenal cameras ; Outstanding display ; Attractive design
Hard to spot some of Apple's improvements ; Starting price is far too high ; No fast charger in-box ; Scratches easily
Not a huge upgrade over the iPhone X, but a good choice if you're stuck on an older iPhone and fancy something new.

For better or worse, the iPhone XS Max is just a massive iPhone XS. That's great in some ways: its 6.5-inch display is fantastic for watching videos and lining up photos, and there's a much better battery here, too. That said, only a few app and...
First-rate build quality ; Excellent performance ; Helpful camera improvements ; iOS 12 is fantastic ; Slightly more durable than the iPhone X
Still very expensive ; Minute design changes mean old cases might not fit well ; Incremental battery gains
But we need to circle back to our original question: Are either of these new iPhones must-own devices? The answer really depends. If you splurged on an iPhone X last year, you could easily skip out on this generation -- and maybe even the next one --...

This smartphone is a sensational AV device
Crisp vibrant picture ; Clear, rhythmic sound ; Easy to use
Price ; Battery life can be bettered
Apple knows how to make a decent smartphone – and the iPhone XS is a hugely capable AV device

We'd recommend the iPhone XR first, but here's what the XS brings to the table.
The iPhone XS has a markedly improved dual camera, delivering better photos than the iPhone X in both dark and high-contrast environments. It has a faster processor, faster face ID, adds dual-SIM support and it’s now available in gold and 512GB versions.
Its battery life is the shortest of the three new iPhones and only incrementally better than last year's. Despite its still-rich price tag, increased storage, USB-C fast chargers and headphone dongles will have you spending even more.
While we'd still recommend the iPhone XR first, the XS has some extras worth noting.

The Apple iPhone XS is a significant step forward for iPhones, but most iPhone buyers will probably prefer the XR or the XS Max.

As with all 'S' iPhone model upgrades, the iPhone XS is about bringing new processing power to a phone that already looks really good.
Faster processor ; New camera features ; Tougher glass build
Design hasn't changed ; No fast charger in the box
The Apple iPhone XS offers a faster experience, a tougher shell, and an improved camera over predecessors - though it isn't as good for photos as the iPhone 11 Pro.

It's been a little over three weeks since Apple unveiled the new iPhone XS, XS Max and the XR . The new flagship line-up is one of Apple's most important ones to date; this year we're seeing the company expand last year's new iPhone X design across all...
For the iPhone XS Max, I wasn’t surprised to see battery life be less than on the iPhone 8 Plus – the OLED screen is less efficient than the LCD display of last year’s phone – and the increased battery capacity is not enough to counter-act this. It’s...

Full, in-depth, Australian review
Incredible design ; Snappy performance
Battery life still lags ; Expensive
At the end of the day, this is Apple’s best and most-expensive iPhone yet. Take it or leave it.
Ekspertanmeldelse af : Chris Davies (slashgear.com)
If 2017 was the year Apple hit reset on the iPhone then, in 2018, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are its masterplan writ large. In the case of the iPhone XS Max, that's quite literally very large indeed. Doubling down on its screen-first design,...
Incredible OLED display, now with a bigger size option ; Apple A12 Bionic processor is super-powerful ; Excellent cameras ; Battery life is great ; Huge growth potential for on-device AI processing
Fiendishly expensive ; Still no headphone jack, and now no in-box adapter ; Smart HDR camera tech can be heavy-handed ; Portrait mode still not perfect
