LG MS408D / MS409D

Ok, I bought one of the MS 408D and it sucks. Totally. Have had a new motherboard installed under warranty now because after 6 months of buying it it was playing up. That did not fix it anyhows.... It used to freeze... like a windows computer...Now...

Awful. So much promise ruined by the timer recording function. I'm packing mine up and returning it to the store. It is impossible to timer record in the background without interruption.

DO NOT GET THIS UNIT! Extremely unreliable & LG customer servie is terrible. Started working OK for about 6 months but have had non stop faults & problems for over a year. Unit was returned to LG to repair twice with each time taking about 2 weeks....

Don't buy this product unless you're a total tech head. It's so frustrating that the hardware is so good yet the software completely destroys any chance of it being usable. LG really need to sack their software developers that worked on this one....

This could have been great with some minor tweeks. Can only agree with olbert's review. Being forced to leave what you are watching because you have set a timer recording. By the way LG's explanation is no-one records while they are at home. Timeshift...

This recorder promised so much but delivered slightly less, and what it did deliver was delivered badly! One of the reasons I bought this was because I wanted to stream from the set top box TO my computer, not the other way around! It is beyond me why...

This is the worst product I have ever had the misfortune to buy. Gripes are: 3 minutes to boot - boots without reason - continually boots trying to play AVI/Divx, MPG, or TS files from internal, external and USB drives - unable to turn off TELETEXT,...

Been working OK for about 6 months now but EPG is not user friendly. If you are watching another show whilst recording, it will interrupt the show you are watching & switch to the recording show. You then have to switch back to the show you were watching.
