Kodak's Easyshare V1073 is a good all-round compact combining nice images with some nifty features and a touch-screen interface.

Takes very good indoor and outdoor still images. Can capture HD video (1,280-by-720 at 30 fps). Relatively low noise in high ISO shots.

Dull design. 3-inch touch screen is very dim. Not all controls are touch-screen-based. Poor battery performance. No HDMI-out for video playback.

Like its previously-tested big brother, the 12-megapixel EasyShare V1253, this Kodak is a triumph of form over function. Sure, it looks good and the large touchscreen is a fun gimmick, but its average, over-baked images simply aren't worth the effort...
