Not the fastest laptop, but good mobility and excellent quality and style

Nice design ; Good connectivity ; LED backlit screen ; Good battery life

Not super quick

A nicely designed and executed ultraportable that values battery life and portability over raw performance

Svelte and light. Multi-touch touchpad. Nice screen.

32-bit Vista Business can't see the full 4GB RAM. Stippled touchpad isn't pleasant to use. Battery life isn't great. Covers over ports are inconvenient.

The UX30 gets oh so close to what it strives to achieve, but small design choices like the stippled touchpad and port covers, and large issues like the low battery life prevent it from achieving greatness.

Asus UX30-QX011C review

 

And the Asus UX30-QX011C's upmarket appearance is matched by punchy performance, 4GB RAM helping it to a WorldBench 6 score of 72. Not bad for a PC this portable, and certainly fast enough to handle everyday tasks: even with Windows Vista on board....

Good looking, lightweight and a decent performer, the Asus UX30-QX011C wins points for its solid spec at a sub-£1,000 price. We can't understand why it runs Vista, however, and there are enough gripes with the hardware to tempts us to look elsewhere.

Good looking, lightweight and a decent performer, the Asus UX30-QX011C wins points for its solid spec at a sub-£1,000 price. We can't understand why it runs Vista, however, and there are enough gripes with the hardware to tempts us to look elsewhere.
