Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Ultrabook review

Lenovo's sturdy ThinkPad 13 is a cheap laptop that can handle serious work.

There’s a lot to like about the ThinkPad 13. The form factor manages to be simultaneously lightweight and sturdy, the input devices are top-tier, and the battery life is great. The ThinkPad 13 proves you can buy a good laptop for around $600.

An affordable and durable laptop that's all you need

The affordable and durable Lenovo ThinkPad 13 is fine laptop for a budget price.

The Lenovo ThinkPad 13 has a durable design with an excellent keyboard. It has a fingerprint reader, many ports and solid battery life. There's a decent variety of upgrade options.

It has a girthy design, and the keyboard isn't backlit.

The Lenovo ThinkPad 13 isn’t going to turn any heads, but it’s a fine budget laptop for simple needs and features a solid keyboard.

Lenovo ThinkPad 13

The Lenovo ThinkPad 13 is an inexpensive rugged laptop with all-day battery life; it's a fine choice whether you're buying it for a college student or a small business.

Thin and light. Affordable. Comes with Windows 10 Pro. Comfortable keyboard. Mil-Spec rugged. Bright screen.

Ethernet connectivity requires an adapter.

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive laptop that's capable of lasting the four years of a college education or a similar amount of time to write off the costs on the tax forms for your business, the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 should be at the top of...

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 review: Tough for travel, but easy on the wallet

For essential office or school work, this full-HD 13-inch notebook is ready for your daily grind.

The thin-and-light Lenovo ThinkPad 13 offers a lot for a little, including a great keyboard, a matte 1080p screen, useful port assortment, a fair amount of upgrade options and a lightweight, but rugged build quality.

The touchpad can be a little jumpy and the trackpoint can be hard to find without looking. The keyboard isn't backlit.

A travel-friendly, tough business laptop, the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 delivers essentials for work or school.

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 silver

Starting at around $600 (AU$900, £360), the ThinkPad 13 might not go above and beyond for performance with its entry-level components. It's really the overall design -- including an excellent ThinkPad keyboard -- and features are better than you might...

Lenovo Thinkpad 13 Review (2017): Cheap and mostly cheerful

Lenovo has released the second-generation version of its ThinkPad 13, a business ultrabook with the same no-nonsense style we've come to know and love. Unlike some ultrabooks, the ThinkPad 13 packs a bunch of ports that (most likely can) cover all of...

Ample ports ; Durable construction ; Classic ThinkPad design ; Long battery life ; Fingerprint reader

Thick bezels ; Bulky for an ultrabook ; Dim display

If you’re in the market for a ThinkPad but you can’t drop several hundred on one of the higher-end models, Lenovo has a great compromise in the ThinkPad 13. While you’re not getting the thinnest ultrabook out there nor a bright 4K display, you will...

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 (Core i3-7100U, Full HD) Laptop Review

Entry-level update. Intel's Kaby Lake platform has been appearing on more and more notebooks, and now Lenovo has updated the ThinkPad 13 with the 7th Generation processors. Does the new platform bring enough of a performance increase to warrant an...

excellent input devices ; ample port selection ; long battery life ; quiet operation ; quick and accurate fingerprint reader

no Thunderbolt ; expensive for the specs ; keyboard not backlit

The ThinkPad 13 sits in a good spot. The feature set retains many outstanding points of its more mature ThinkPad brothers, the T and X series. The keyboard is among the best available, the battery life is good enough for a full work day, and...

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 2017 (Core i7, Full-HD) Laptop Review

A worthy successor? Following Lenovo's delivery of a good outcome in the business sector with its ThinkPad 13 last year, the manufacturer now sends the successor based on Kaby Lake CPUs into the race. We examined whether Lenovo is successful and has...

functional design ; high system performance ; fast SSD (512 GB) ; good input devices ; backlit keyboard ; satisfactory battery life ; moderate noise polution ; bright, viewing angle stable screen ; USB Type-C ; docking port (OneLink+)

slow SD card reader ; no SmartCard reader ; tight color space coverage ; USB Type-C only Gen.1 ; 12-month warranty ; casing gets warm during load

Lenovo's ThinkPad 13 (2017) is a solid entry-level business laptop. The performance of the laptop justifies its purchase price of 1230 Euros (~$1329). Buyers get a fast Intel Core i7-7500U that can develop a big part of its potential even during load...
