Fujitsu Lifebook S6510

Fujitsu boasts that its sleek, black Lifebook S6510 offers three predominant features; it's thin, it's light and it's wide. We agree it's a very slim...

3.5G (HSDPA) module, battery life, modular optical drive

No express card, just a PC card slot

This is a solid, feature-filled notebook. Thanks to its 3.5G module and battery life the Fujitsu Lifebook S6510 is a great option if you're out on the road a lot.

Review: Fujitsu Lifebook S6510

Fujitsu's S6510 snorts at the MacBook Air. It may be thicker, but by stuffing a 14-inch display, beefy specs, and an optical drive into a...

Expansive LED-backlit display. Ultra-thin bezels add a real touch of class. Meaty specifications help it avoid annoyances typical of lightweight notebooks

Duller-looking than the mayor of Dulles’ dullest gray suit. Big metal grille on one side vents hot air like an industrial dryer. Standard battery fell short

Fujitsu Lifebook S6510 Review

This light, travel-friendly unit features a relatively big screen and has a modular bay for using two batteries at once.

Light weight ; Two-battery option

Weak, scratchy audio ; Lacks an ExpressCard slot

With its reasonable weight and a screen just small enough to clear a reclining seat back, the Fujitsu LifeBook S6510's physical attributes will please all but the most persnickety ultraportable fan. If getting maximum performance bang for your buck is...

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 (Core 2 Duo 7500 2.2GHz review: Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 (Core 2 Duo 7500 2.2GHz

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 (Core 2 Duo 7500 2.2GHz

Very light for a 14-inch laptop; strong mix of components including current Core 2 Duo processor; business-friendly security features; decent battery life.

More expensive than similarly configured systems.

If weight is a primary concern, and a 12-inch ultraportable is too small, the Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 offers a 14-inch screen and a 4-pound weight along with high-end components and business-friendly extras.

Fujitsu Lifebook S6510

Fujitsu manages to fit a huge 14-inch widescreen onto the 4-pound Lifebook S6510 business laptop.

Large screen for such a lightweight. Only 4 pounds. Potential for all day battery life. Hardcore processing.

Keyboard is a little mushy. Internal cellular modems are not available.

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 Review

The build is a combination of magnesium-alloy and plastics that provide amazing rigidity that you don't expect from notebooks that are less than an inch thick. The S6510 does use a latch with a simple push button type release, but the firm hinge...

Amazingly thin (for a 14-inch notebook) ; Amazingly light (for a 14-inch notebook) ; Solid build quality ; Reasonable battery life even at maximum screen brightness ; Modular bay holds optical drive, extra battery, or weight saver ; Shock-mounted hard...

Poor vertical viewing angles and some light leakage on screen ; Exhaust might be a bit too hot for some ; Rubber cover over VGA-out port just gets in the way ; Only three USB ports

Bottom line, the S6510 is the thinnest and lightest 14-inch notebook we've seen. Performance is on par with (or superior to) the competition, and the build quality is among the best you can find in the $1,500 to $2,000 price range

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 (3.5G)

The Fujitsu S6510 is a light business laptop with HSDPA built in -- meaning it's perfect for those who are always on the move.

Light, Decent mix of business sensitive and current components, Good battery life

No digital video output, A bit pricey
