Dell Inspiron Mini 10v

 

The Dell Mini 10v is one of the most affordable netbooks money can buy, and 8 hours of battery life isn't too shabby either.

Very aggressively priced. Almost 8 hours of battery life. Other colors are available as options. Option for 802.11n WiFi.

Touchpad and mouse buttons are difficult to use. Design is plain. 120GB is not a deal breaker, but it's smaller than those of its competitors. ; Watch our Dell Inspiron Mini 10v video review!

Chasing up the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a cut-price version, the Mini 10v. We assume the added ‘v' in the name denotes value, as this model cuts a few corners in the specifications - all sweetened with a tempting starting price of only £199.

There has been a general trend for contemporary netbooks to get bigger, heavier and more into notebook territory than ever before recently, so hats off to Dell, who have stayed true to the original ideal of a netbook with their Inspiron Mini 10v range.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v

 

The vivid 10in screen and light travelling weight are both attractive features in this well-priced netbook, but there are some annoying flaws too.

But we also can't conclude without reiterating those frustrations: the Mini 10v's below-par battery life and terrible trackpad are unnecessary in a modern netbook, and if you're willing to spend another £20 inc VAT on the N110 then we urge you to do so.
