I built a four level townhouse a few years ago. HVAC was a concern because the builder was only installing a single zone unit. I asked if I should upgrade to a dual zone and he swore up and down it wasn't needed since the fourth level was only a 13×17...

Stay Away

 

Good for first year.

2 different units died in 3rd year. No way to repair.

Only requires a hose for venting so the curb appeal of your home isn't ruined.

Noisy and doesn't work well in extreme heat.

"Penguin" is an appropriate name - really cranks out the cold!

 

I purchased this AC 3 summers ago while I was living in a rented condominium with tall skinny horizontally-sliding windows, too narrow for even the casement-window style air conditioners. Installing a through-the-wall AC was simply not an option, the ...

Doesn't block window or use too much electricity. Rolls easily from room to room.

Takes up floor space. Can be somewhat loud in small rooms. Pricey. HEAVY.
