I had a JVC GR-DVL805U, I used to complain about the motor noise and no microphone input, the battery life and how fragile this camera is, and then I decided to go to a better camera, Panasonic PV-DV800, I sold my JVC and bought this camera, the camera...

Extra large battery, excellent image stabilizer, DV recording, audio input, 8 MB still image card

Panasonic's Best: PV-DV800

 

The Panasonic PV DV-800 camcorder model is the top Panasonic digital mini-DV year-2000 model. There are parts of the design which I do NOT like, and I will start with those. These are likely applicable to the PV-DV100, 200, 400 and 600, as well.

18x optical zoom for movies & pics

Poor low light movies, poor designs
