A well-equipped smartwatch with too many features

Built-in GPS and NFC ; Optional 4G model ; Feature-packed smartwatch

Screen a little too small ; Performance can be sluggish ; Design less premium than predecessor

Huawei tries to cover all use cases with the Watch 2, and while it hits most of them, it doesn't do it in a way which is overly user-friendly. If anything, it strengthens the case for specialized smartwatches, rather than a one-device-fits-all approach.

It's got everything you'd expect from a smartwatch, including cellular connectivity -- if smartwatches are your thing.

The Huawei Watch 2 is one of few watches that supports 4G connectivity, though not in the US, and does fitness tracking as well as any other wearable.

No features that make this a must-have device for the average user. It's also a little too big and bulky, and its 1.2-inch screen is too small.

Within the category of smartwatches, the Huawei Watch 2 is a great device. But that doesn't mean it's one you need to buy if you're not already sold on wearables.

Very accurate heart rate monitor that works 24/7 ; Built-in GPS means you can run without your phone ; It’s not as bulky as sportier watches like the LG Watch Sport or the Garmin Fenix 5X ; Watch’s speaker produces surprisingly good audio quality

The Huawei Watch 2 features excellent fitness tracking capabilities and is the strongest showcase for Android Wear 2.0 we've seen so far, but that still doesn't make it a perfect smartwatch.

Continuous heart rate monitoring. Built-in GPS and Android Pay compatibility. Accurate step and distance tracking. Good battery life.

Strap feels chintzy and isn't easy to swap out. Difficult to keep track of long-term fitness progress. Wi-Fi can be finicky.

And yet we can't recommend the Huawei Watch 2 unequivocally. Android Wear lags behind watchOS in the app department and it just isn't intuitive to use. And the watch itself is big and bulky, limiting your abilities for all-day wear. So while the Huawei...
