Review: Acer XB270H Gaming Monitor

 

At around £200, this isn't an ordinary monitor, and should not be considered as such. Having said that, a good decent monitor around 24-27 inches does cost around £120-£150, so[...]

The monitor offers a great gaming experience at a great price. G-Sync and the fast refresh rate are definitely worth trying out, though the pure image experience of the device is on par with many others out there.

Inderdaad. Erg goed staat de Acer XB270HA er niet op. Daar moeten we wel direct bij opmerken, dat we slechts een beperkt aantal testen van deskundigen hebben kunnen verzamelen. We voegen dagelijks testen toe, dus ook bij de XB270HA kunnen binnenkort...

Goede beeldkwaliteit ; G-Sync-tech maakt gaming echt vlot ; Goed aanbod van ergonomische instellingen

Kijkhoeken zijn niet geweldig ; Matige kleurnauwkeurigheid en contrast

Great monitor when it worked -- died just over a year from purchase

 

Until tonight's discovery (and free time wasted trying to troubleshoot it) I would have given this monitor a 4.5 EASY... Now in good conscience I can only grant it 1 egg. You can make the best looking monitor in the world -- if you don't build it to...

Well consider I'm writing this review pretty upset right now , just tonight when I got home from work it appears this monitor has more or less "died"....I turn it on I get hazy "lime" colors in tons of greens and oranges in outlines of the acer logo...

I didn't like how it STOPPED WORKING AFTER A YEAR.. Yeah I thought that was kind of a bummer after dropping almost $600 on it in Feb 2015! i've owned many computers in my time, owned many many monitors in return (running on one of my spares as I type...

Amazing! Solved my problem!

 

Overall, if you are looking to upgrade to a nice monitor with G-Sync, this is the best route you can go!

Excellent quality and refresh rate. Crystal clear with sharp contrast. The G-Sync fixed the screen tearing I was having on my old 60hz monitor. You'll be hard pressed to find a better 27" with G-Sync for the price!

It's nit-picky, but the base is a bit of a pain to work around while attaching the cords since it launches out as if it were spring-loaded. Just be careful when setting up and it won't be an issue.

Fine when it works

 

Gsync is cool, and I like it. I can't really say what it's worth, though. These monitors are gd expensive and I've had 2 defective ones in a row. If you want to spend a bunch, go find another one - and hopefully one that does what you're paying so much...

It's big and it looks nice. Ok price for gsync when on sale.

The first arrived and died within 4 hours of use. It was replaced with a fairly simple RMA. But, waiting for stuff to get shipped and processed for a product that should have worked in the first place is weak. I'm a few months in now and a pixel has...

Decent, but possibly poor quality control

 

It's a good monitor for the $400 price tag, but due to poor QC I wouldn't buy another one, especially at over $600. An IPS G-sync monitor will be a better choice once they become more affordable. Acer isn't pleasant to deal with. I had bad color...

- G-sync is a great technology - Pretty acceptable color for a TN - Decent size for 1080p - 144hz

- 4-6 Dead pixels within 6 months - Extremely bad light bleed and distortion (visible horizontal lines on solid colors in the top right corner) - Controls are lackluster - Price (unless you got it for $400 like I did)

View angles are not bad for a TN panel but it can be an issues to some people. This is a gaming monitor. If you don't buy it for gaming, it is a waste of money.
