The Plustek SmartOffice SC8016U can scan at speeds up to 80 ppm from its 100-sheet automatic document feeder, and can scan tabloid-width documents .

Scans A3/Tabloid-width documents. 100-sheet ADF. Nearly meets rated speeds for scanning to image PDF. Good price for a tabloid-width scanner.

Slows considerably in scanning to searchable PDF. Awkward to scan from profiles using the single-character display. Lacks a flatbed.

The SC8016U wasn't as fast as the others at scanning to searchable PDF, very slow at its default (300 dpi color) setting and still lagging the others somewhat when I tried it in grayscale. The Panasonic KV-S5055C is by far the fastest of the lot at...
