Kogan Agora 4G review

The BenQ-made smartphone is the best to come from Kogan yet

Big 5in screen ; 4G ; Near-vanilla software

Low-end hardware ; Cheap construction

The Agora 4G is the best budget smartphone to come out of Kogan yet. It feels more refined than its predecessors in spite of being laden in plastic. Top-tier features, such as a large screen and 4G internet, coupled with the low $229 price, make it an...

Kogan Agora HD Android phone

The Agora HD smartphone combines a good display with solid performance, making it great value

Great value for money ; Good display & pleasing performance ; Relatively stock Android experience

Battery life could be improved ; Only 4GB of internal memory ; Erratic ambient light sensor

The Kogan Agora HD smartphone combines a good display with solid performance and retails for a hugely competitive price. It's only let down by a lack of internal memory and below average battery life, but still comes highly recommended for anyone on a...

Kogan Agora Android phone

The Kogan Agora is let down by a poor quality display, below average battery life and sluggish performance

Very low price ; Dual-SIM card slots ; Relatively stock Android

Doesn't support 850MHz 3G ; Poor quality display ; Buttons can be unresponsive

While the Kogan Agora will deliver most of what it promises, it has a poor quality display, terrible battery life and often sluggish performance. It also doesn't appear to work on the 850MHz 3G network band in Australia, despite being advertised as such.

Kogan Agora 4G review

Will the marketplace snap up this budget 4G phone?

Bargain price ; Premium feel ; Ships with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) ; 5-inch HD screen ; MicroSD card slot ; Integrated LTE

Only 8GB storage ; Only 1GB RAM ; Questionable camera performance

The price of the Kogan Agora 4G is its biggest selling point, but look at the specs and this thing seems to ooze value for money. Just running through the spec sheet of the Kogan Agora 4G, there are plenty of attractive selling points on offer. From...

Kogan Agora 4G review

Last year saw Aussie e-tailer Kogan release its quad-core Agora phone , the first in Australia to retail for under AU$200, with equally low price tags in other markets: $189 in the US and £149 in the UK.

The Kogan Agora 4G has solid quad-core performance, 4G connectivity, and a surprisingly stylish design, all at a bargain basement price.

Sadly the camera is also bargain basement and the screen is a little dull, with poor visibility in sunlight.

There are better 4G phones to be found, but none of them come close to the low price tag on the Kogan Agora 4G.

Kogan Agora quad-core smartphone review

Double the power, but double the performance?

Cheap ; Great specs ; Decent design

Only 4GB on board storage ; Average camera

This phone punches above its weight. For under 200 bucks, it's impossible to argue the value for money case. But there are conditions: there's no 4G, and the 3G will work nicely on Telstra's 3G bands, but not Optus' 900MHz spectrum. The camera also has...

Kogan Agora 5.0' Dual-core Smartphone review

Cheap as chips

The price ; Fully featured ; Decent battery performance ; Good web browsing

Below average screen quality ; Basic software package ; Some stability issues ; Woeful camera

There is a lot to like about the Agora smartphone beyond its bargain-bin price tag. Kogan has excelled at creating a product which is so full-featured on a budget, even if some of these features don't perform as you might expect them to.

Kogan Agora ICS tablet review

How does Ice Cream Sandwich taste in a bargain tablet?

Bargain price ; Decent screen ; Abundance of connections ; Ice Cream Sandwich

Poor battery life ; Average processing power ; Debatable build quality

Australian technology company Kogan has built its success on creating cheap but functional products that offer an alternative to premium priced brand names.

Kogan Agora 4G+ review: Is Kogan's best smartphone good enough?

The Agora 4G+ comes with improved memory and a better camera

Inexpensive at $239 ; 5-inch HD display ; Improved 13MP camera ; Double RAM and storage over predecessor

Won't take 64GB storage card ; Plastic body ; Doesn't match some rivals on performance
