Business for tight budgets. The case and screen both come with matt looks. Is that enough to call it "business"? Asus thinks so and even prints AsusPro on the minimalistic computer. How much "professional" is possible for ?450? ...

Stable base unit ; Matt surfaces ; Matt display ; Good keyboard ; Quiet, fast touchpad ; Low heat dissipation ; Good application performance ; Good speaker sound

Few, adversely placed ports ; No fingerprint reader, no docking port ; Poor contrast and low brightness ; Plastic feel (lid)

Simple office devices are all right, but the "Pro" in the name seems exaggerated in view of the lack of pro qualities

Okay, but poor contrast and viewing angle

 

I might be spoiled because I've been on a MacBook Pro for the past 5 years, but it's been hard for me to adjust to this laptop's screen. The contrast is poor (the darkest any black goes is a medium gray), and the viewing angle is EXTREMELY narrow....

The Asus P53E-XH31 is a very sleek computer. The brushed finish looks great, but fingerprints and smudges are very noticeable. The touchpad has a good feel, but the buttons for the touchpad seem weak. Asus makes great products and this is no exception....
